As Tateym’s bedtime approached tonight, I was playing with Tateym on the floor while Natalie took a little break and got in some quality reading time. It was time for Tateym’s bedtime bottle, so I left her playing with her toys on the floor (under Natalie’s supervision, of course) while I ran down to get her bottle. As I headed down the stairs Tateym started to scream, as she typically does when people stop paying attention to her. After a short while though, the screaming stopped and I could hear Natalie’s voice. “Oh,” I thought to myself, “she must be reading her a bedtime story.” When I came up stairs here’s what I saw:
Tateym had her 4-month checkup today. It went really well, right up until the shots … then she screamed until her face was a deep shade of crimson and Natalie had to blow in her face to make her breathe. She was OK as soon as Mommy picked her up though. The doctor says she’s right on track and healthy as can be.
Here are her stats for those who are interested:
Length: 25.5 in. (89.09 percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 8.5 oz. (69.77 percentile)
And here are some pictures so you can see how cute she is 😉 :
And here’s a video that was too cute not to share:
Our little girl just keeps growing up. Monday night (11/24/08) she rolled over for the first time. It was kind of a surprise and really fun to see. Now we can’t get her to stay on her back. We’ll lay her down, look away for a second, and when we look back she’s on her tummy.
Several weeks ago we finished up Tateym’s bedroom, but haven’t posted any pictures yet. It was a pretty big project and took several weekends and a lot of late nights to get it all done. In the end though I have to say it was worth it. We’re pretty proud of how it turned out, and it’s so nice for Tateym to have her own room (and for us to have our room back too). Natalie gets all the credit for the design, I was just her faithful laborer.
Because it wasn’t practical for me to have a shower before Tateym was born, my sister-in-laws, Lisa and Kimberly, decided to throw me my first family baby shower. Tateym came with me and was the life of the party. Before I knew it Tateym was whisked away from me and was being passed around like a little doll. However, in the nick of time I rescued her and she went right to sleep in my arms. (That’s right, she knows who her mommy is.) We played some very fun and interesting games. One of the games was called “Guess What Made That Poopy Diaper?” Actually I don’t know if that’s what it’s called, but anyway it’s a game where Kimberly passed around 10 or so different diapers and inside each diaper was a smashed up candy bar. The guests then had to smell the “poopy diaper” and guess which candy bar was inside. We all got a kick out of that one. I then opened gifts, which were very thoughtful, nice , and useful. Lisa gave me a “diaper cake” it was a three tier structure made of diapers with baby spoons, bibs, and toys tucked in between. It was adorable. Next, we all made our way into Lisa’s beautiful kitchen and had a delicious lunch of either chicken noodle and taco soup in a bread bowl. Dessert was a wonderful pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. Thank you Lisa and Kim! Tateym and I had a blast!
When we brought Tateym home from the hospital, our families were very excited. However, my dad got short changed because he had the worst flu/cough/virus of his life and was unable to hold her until she was two months old! Finally the day came when Grandpa got to hold little Tatey Boo. It was sweet, he couldn’t take his eyes of her and held her with such care.
