As Tateym’s bedtime approached tonight, I was playing with Tateym on the floor while Natalie took a little break and got in some quality reading time. It was time for Tateym’s bedtime bottle, so I left her playing with her toys on the floor (under Natalie’s supervision, of course) while I ran down to get her bottle. As I headed down the stairs Tateym started to scream, as she typically does when people stop paying attention to her. After a short while though, the screaming stopped and I could hear Natalie’s voice. “Oh,” I thought to myself, “she must be reading her a bedtime story.” When I came up stairs here’s what I saw:
Tateym had her 4-month checkup today. It went really well, right up until the shots … then she screamed until her face was a deep shade of crimson and Natalie had to blow in her face to make her breathe. She was OK as soon as Mommy picked her up though. The doctor says she’s right on track and healthy as can be.
Here are her stats for those who are interested:
Length: 25.5 in. (89.09 percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 8.5 oz. (69.77 percentile)
And here are some pictures so you can see how cute she is 😉 :
And here’s a video that was too cute not to share:
Our little girl just keeps growing up. Monday night (11/24/08) she rolled over for the first time. It was kind of a surprise and really fun to see. Now we can’t get her to stay on her back. We’ll lay her down, look away for a second, and when we look back she’s on her tummy.
Many people I know have asked me how my summer was and I simply reply by saying it was the most eventful summer of my life. Basically I went to New York with my girlfriends, then Eric and I went camping in Washington, afterward I came home and got a baby! How many people can say that? Continue reading “What a Summer!”
We know blogs are meant to keep people up to date on current events, but we have a whole back-log of events that we need to get caught up on. The most significant one, of course, is the adoption of our beautiful little daughter, Tateym. For those who haven’t heard the story, or for those who like to hear it again and again, we thought we’d post it so everyone can hear how this little miracle came about. Continue reading “Tateym’s Adoption Story”
So the other day I put Tateym on the ground for some tummy time. I got up to grab something off the bed, and when I turned back around she was laying on her back. I put her back on her stomach again, and sure enough, she rolled right back over onto her back. Now, I realize the big one is going from back to stomach, but for a 6 week old baby, we thought that was pretty impressive. Anyway, we tried to get her to do it one more time and capture it on video. She didn’t do it again, but we thought the video was cute so I’m posting it anyway. 🙂
